This Brooklyn-based performance troupe plans a retreat several times a year to choregraph and compose new dance performance pieces. This dance space and its adjacent cabins enable the city dancers to have a change to collaborate together and with other allies while in nature. The wide open studio features a columnless space designed with cross-laminated lumber. The entry zone and overhang provides a hangout for dancers and doubles as an outdoor informal stage to perform for an audience watching from the outdoor sitting area. The project is sited in Upstate NY. When the dance troupe is away on tour or in the city, the space could be used by other performers.
