Tighthouse vs Standard Annual Energy Use

Detail of resurfaced brownstone and new passive house windows on this landmarked Brooklyn brownstone. FNA's project completed construction this summer. In this project we improved the energy performance, added an ERV for fresh air ventilation, new passive house windows, doors, and skylights, continuous insulation at front and rear facade, and solar pv on the roof - for improved comfort and energy performance.

Thermal imagery of FNA's Tighthouse project - photographed on a cold winter night in 2012 soon after its completion. Image speaks a 1000 words to tell the story of high performance building vs standard construction (see neighbor building's leaking heat from fossil fuels to the outdoors through leaks in windows, doors, and facade).
